You don’t need to have spent
too much time in the new year to know what fashion trends are going to dominate
2018. Because we’re always looking to stay on top of the newest, coolest,
weirdest, and most interesting trends, we’ve already got our eyes on the style
trends that’ll dominate fashion headline in 2018. Whereas 2017 introduced us to
some cool and flirty trends like paper bag waist pants and couch floral. 2017
also saw to some of tassel earrings, off-shoulder tops, ripped jeans and even
the so-called millennial pink, 2018 is poised to follow a different landscape
in the fashion department. Now, we’re eagerly awaiting what fun and fashionable
things we can look forward to seeing on clothing racks in 2018.
Ultra Violet
Pantone, dubbed as the
worls-renowned authority of color, announced “ultra violet” to be the color of
the year. On its website, the shade is described as “enchanting purple” and is
said to offer designers “versatility of expression.” The shade represents “our
shared desire for deeper understanding in an increasingly complex landscape,
and our eagerness to experiment to reach that level.” Meanwhile, those who want
to do a softer shade of ultra violet can go for lavender. Except to see the
saturated purple hue everywhere in 2018 from clothes, shoes, and accessories,
to paint and home décor.
Primary Color Blocking
If you’re color-blocking in
2018, keep your palette restrained to those three primary colors. Color
blocking in 2018 means making use of the three primary colors, blue, red, and
yellow. Focus on the graphic combination of hues. The more saturated the shade,
the better.
Disco Flair
In 2018 we’re seeing
designers’ fascination with ‘70s disco manifest into all-over sequins, power
suits, and embellished bustier. Embellished Shoes trend will be dominating
footwear this year. Expect to see pearls, diamond, sequins, and glitter on your
kick headed into the new year.
Everything Plastics
It looks like 2018 will be
all gaga for wearable and accessory made of plastic. We’ve begun to notice more
plastic-look jackets on the street and at our favorite retailers than we had
since the heyday of The Matrix, trenches, moto jackets, overcoats.
100% Timeless Denim
The no-stretch denim trend
is in full swing, with customers turning their eyes toward 100-percent cotton
jeans and denim in 2018. Denim 2018 will be all about its dark indigo hue and
will be exhausted from head to toe, bra included. If you’re looking to get on
the capsule wardrobe train, timeless denim is a must have.
See Through Materials
Sheer, mesh,and other
translucent fabrics may have once been considered strictly nighttime wear, but
no more. They’re now taking the spotlight. That see through materials can awe
in the form of voluminous dresses or even dreamy maxi skirts. The incorporation
of slip dress, plain trousers, and leather bustier to achive an overall chic
look.
Peekaboo Side Slits
Sexy side splits are the
look we can’t get enough of this year. From splits in wide-leg trouser and
jeans, to skirts and thigh high dress slits, you can expect to see a little
more skin in 2018.
Bold Mixed Prints
In 2018, you’ll see floral
and a lot of it. Especially mixed-matched patterns of bright and bold floral.
Find pieces that share similar color tones. Fashion insiders are predicting
check prints to dominate not only blazers and trousers, but also tops and skirts.
Berets and Sheer Socks
Berets were the “it” topper
for fall runways in 2017, and it looks like it’s on the upswing for this new
year. They’re cute, super lightweight, easy to wear, and take any look from
bland to bold. Sheer socks are probably one of the more impractical trends of
2018, but they’re to magical and cute not to love. Pair them with ballet flats
for a new look, or let them play peekaboo over a pair of ankle booties.
Bike Shorts and Wide Leg
Trousers
Whether you like it or not,
‘90s-style bike shorts will be the inescapable trend of 2018. Wide-leg pants
are the trouser trend that just won’t let go, and it looks like they’re here to
stay through 2018. From wide-leg cropped trousers, to high-waist paper-bag
pants, you’ll plenty of these cool and comfortable bottoms throughout 2018.
Balloon Sleeve
We’ve already seen sleeves
get super-sized in 2017. Voluminous blouses that resemble fashion scene of 19th
century are also predicted to dominate the scene.
Corduroy
Cozy corduroy is making a
comeback in 2018, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Corduroy is basically just
a textured form of velvet. Corduroy is a perfect trouser to transition between
workwear and weekend wear.
Tinsel Fringe
In 2018, the boho-chic
trends gets festive and futuristic, rendered in tinsel and other stringy
metallic materials. This trend is all about a “more is more” mentality.
Teddy Coats
Think of them as coats made
with teedy bear fur. They’ve got warmth, style and texture of faux fur, but
with an extra kick of coziness.
So, What are you waiting for ? Thank's for reading babe :)
